The Gilets Jaunes – or Yellow Vests – who have been shaking up France since November have a new focus: the G7 summit taking place in Biarritz this coming August.
Not only is the G7 being hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron, their primary hate-figure, it will also receive – in the words of the Bayonne branch of Gilets Jaunes in the Basque region – ‘world leaders who defend an ultra-liberal economy which offers us nothing’.
