Nicknamed Sollywood (after Hollywood, India’s Bollywood and Nigeria’s Nollywood), it is, according to one actor, a chance ‘for Sierra Leoneans to tell their own story – of both good and bad experiences. We can tell our story better than anyone else.’
With an estimated 300 production companies now set up, film crews and auditions are popping up everywhere. Film posters cover every available space, and new film launches are frequent.
