Yanghee Lee, a UN human rights envoy to Myanmar from 2014 to 2020, warned the world about the military’s atrocities against the Rohingya. The government responded by barring her from the country. She talks to Preeti Jha about the lessons that should have been learned from that crisis and what practical steps can be taken now.
