In Sápmi, a battle is raging to protect the traditional lands of the Sámi people from Sweden’s state-owned logging company, Sveaskog.
Repeated calls for it to stop the clear-cutting of lichen-rich forests on reindeer-grazing lands have been ignored, including an impassioned call from representatives of 29 Sámi villages in 2020.
