Alexandria Marinos, a 32-year-old member of Uganda’s opposition National Unity Platform, died in August after three torturous years.

Back in 2022, as part of a continued crackdown on people opposing to the 39-year rule of President Yoweri Museveni, Marinos was abducted and held by the military simply for playing music by opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi, also known as Bobi Wine.
