Over the course of a few days at the end of last year, a series of femicide cases shocked Brazil.
In Rio de Janeiro a public servant killed two of his female colleagues. In São Paulo a man shot his ex-wife because he refused to accept the end of the relationship. Another ran over and dragged a woman with whom he had previously been involved, causing the amputation of both her legs, and ultimately her death.
