Workers at the Orion recycling plant in East London spend their days sorting construction waste. It is dirty and difficult work, made worse by a lack of adequate safety equipment. At Orion, workers sorted dangerous materials at high speeds in a thick cloud of dust, without proper gloves or masks.

In May 2018, a group of 15 mostly Peruvian workers decided enough was enough. They met with the United Voices of the World (UVW), a grassroots trade union.
