Some rich people are all for it. Nick Harvey reports on the growing desire for tax justice.
There’s a buzz in the air about tax. Bestselling authors JK Rowling and Mark Haddon have talked publicly about paying their fair share, while billionaire investor Warren Buffett says the rich should be paying more.
Independent booksellers are displaying large red banners proclaiming: ‘We pay our taxes!’ This comes after Amazon’s grilling by British MPs – together with Starbucks and Google – for paying meagre amounts of tax in Britain.
