Amid the economic uncertainty brought on by Covid-19, thousands of families in the UK – in which one partner’s passport is from outside the European Economic Area – are now concerned about whether they will be split up, as they find themselves unable to meet the Home Office’s minimum income requirement of £18,600 ($21,965) for a spouse visa.
