When it comes to the multi-prong crisis sweeping Haiti, the US is the elephant in the room – a pivotal player in the cruel chess game being conducted before Haitians’ eyes.
For nearly 110 years, the US has policed, dictated and influenced politics in Haiti. The capital, Port-au-Prince is just two hours away from Miami – in the US’s backyard – and the Caribbean country has a long history of US imperialism.
