Nearly a year after Italian dockworkers made international headlines by disrupting arms shipments linked to Israel’s genocide on Gaza, the movement they helped spark shows little sign of slowing – even as those at its forefront face an escalating crackdown.
The coordinated port blockades that swept across Italy in September and October 2025 have since evolved into Global Intifada Disarm, a campaign launched by Italian and French activists alongside grassroots unions and Palestine solidarity groups. The campaign moved from Gioia Tauro to Salerno, Livorno and Genoa before reaching the French port of Marseille, to map and disrupt arms supply chains linked to Israel.
