Introducing... Abhijit Dipke and the Cockroaches
It begs credulity that an Indian student living in Boston could go online and – almost overnight – create an explosion of youth discontent that would rock his home country’s political establishment. Yet that is what has happened. Thirty-year-old Abhijit Dipke, like many young Indians, was outraged when India’s chief justice Surya Kant referred to unemployed youth as ‘cockroaches’ struggling to find opportunities in the job market and society. It was an insult that struck a nerve.
