You’ve been engaged in activism for a quarter of a century. Would you say things are better in Britain than they were in the 1980s and 1990s, or worse?
I’d say worse. The inequality gap is wider, working people are unable to put pressure on employers to pay decent wages and thousands of working people have to rely on foodbanks to get by.
