This challenge from author Panashe Chigumadzi opened her 5 February 2023 ZAM Nelson Mandela Lecture at the International Theatre Amsterdam.1 And there is a certainly a need for action beyond words as the calls for reparations get stronger – reparatory justice for historic enslavement, colonialism and genocide experienced by people in and from Africa.
