Many local communities accuse Nigeria’s anti-militant brigade the Joint Task Force (JTF) of being in bed with the big-time oil thieves.
The JTF, under the code name Operation Pulo Shield, has the responsibility of curbing oil bunkering on 84,000 nautical square miles that constitute Nigeria’s maritime space, as well as protecting oil installations in the Niger Delta region.
