The streets are alive with micro-enterprise. Who benefits? asks Vanessa Baird.
A young woman is painting another’s toenails electric blue. A few doors down, two youths are busy unlocking mobile phones. Across the way, a man is repairing watches. The sign on his doorway says: ‘We repair all types of...’
And it stops there, leaving a space, perhaps, for an additional activity once it becomes licensed and permitted in the new enterprising Cuba.
